Teacher Aide

The Teacher Aide is responsible for creating a positive atmosphere for learning and stimulates critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making with children. The Teacher Aide will report to the lead teacher.
Pay rate:
$17.00 to $18.00 per hourDay:
Monday thru FridayHours:
Part-time 2:00 pm – 6:00pmDuties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in developing and implementing lesson plans and activities appropriate to the age group involved.
- Maintains interaction with children at all times during small and whole group interactive learning.
- Assists during arrival and departure times from the facility.
- Maintains a safe and clean atmosphere for the children, following all safety procedures at all times.
- Supervise children in the classroom, playground, and the community.
- Follow after-school schedules for children's set snack periods.
- Assists lead teacher in following after-school procedures and policies (i.e., labeling child's belongings follow through with after-school schedule.
- Implements philosophy of positive reinforcement and redirection of children's behavior.
- Informs parents of any information relating to their children, behavior, and development as needed in oral and written form.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Bachelor or Associate Degree
- Six post-secondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development (required)
- Bilingual - Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), American Sign Language (ASL), and Armenian (preferred)
- Good oral and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of individuals, including staff and parents

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid California driver's license with a good driving record.
- Current certificate in CPR with AED and Basic First Aid Health and Nutrition.
- Position requires fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.

- Safely push, lift children in wheelchairs safely

Community Integration Specialist

Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in learning skills, developing independence, and meeting personal goals by facilitating community learning and community activities.
Pay rate:
$17.00 to $18.00 per hourDay:

Full-time 8:00 am – 4:00pm
Part-time 8:00 am – 2:00pm
Part-time 2:00 pm – 5:00pmDuties and Responsibilities:
Client Support Functions:
- Facilitate the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the recreation, volunteer, and employment sites of their choosing
- Supports participants in a person-centered manner
- Teaches safety awareness to participants while they access their community
- Promotes full engagement of each participant in each activity
- Recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities and resolve issues if necessary
- Transport participants to and from job/volunteer activities
- Travel train participants that are capable of learning and moving around the community safely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet client needs.
- Other duties as assigned
Administrative Functions:
- Monitor client progress through case notes
- Complete Special Incident Reports as needed
- Keeps First Aid/CPR Certification current
- Participate in planning the monthly calendar and developing new activity curriculum.
- Completes all other assigned paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
Skills requirement:
- Bilingual language skills highly preferred. (Some level of fluency for specific target populations may be required).
- Ability to write clear case notes
- Able to recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities
- Strong time management skills, patient, detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and communication applications including Zoom, Facetime and Facebook Messenger, etc.
Program requirements:
- TB test and health screening (required)
- Criminal Record Clearance (required)
- Able to pass First Aid/CPR certification required (within 30 days)
- Must have a clean DMV printout and proof of auto insurance
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (required)
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. (highly preferred)
- Bilingual - Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), American Sign Language (ASL), and Armenian (preferred)
